A three-person race developed for Hilldale Board of Education, office 5, on the first day of filing for area school board races.
Incumbent Hilldale seat holder Dean Robertson filed, as did Stacy Miller and Brad Richardson.
A primary will be held Feb. 11 for races drawing three or more candidates, said Muskogee County Election Board Secretary Kelly Beach. A candidate who gets more than 50 percent of the votes cast wins the race, he said. If nobody gets more than 50 percent, the top two candidates face each other in the April 7 general election.
Races drawing only two candidates will be decided in the April 7 general election.
On Monday, races developed in Braggs between George Chandler and Danny Doolin; and in Stidham, between James G. Wilson and Abe McIntosh.
In Muskogee, incumbent office 5 place holder Danny Shiew filed for another term.
Nobody filed on Monday for school board races in Fort Gibson, Haskell, Wainwright, Porter, Webbers Falls, Midway, Shady Grove, Lowery and Hulbert.
Filing ends Wednesday.
