I have been reading a lot lately about vaccinations and these outbreaks occurring across the country. I don’t understand why people would not want to protect their children from these terrible, sometimes life threatening, diseases. Not only that but they are also putting other people and their children at risk when they do not vaccinate their kids. This nonsense about vaccinations causing autism has been debunked multiple times. It’s sad when we are starting to live in a post fact world where people believe whatever their tribe tells them instead of researching the truth. One more point I would like to make is that when parents don’t feed, shelter or clothe their children they are charged with neglect. I think knowingly putting your child’s life in danger should also fall under the category of neglect. If everyone is telling you, with the facts, that you are putting your child at risk when you don’t vaccinate and you don’t do it anyway how is that not neglect? Vaccinations need to be mandatory just like making children get an education is mandatory or just like feeding, clothing and sheltering your children is mandatory. This is a debate that shouldn’t be a debate! Vaccinating your kids is the only choice, and those who do not are putting their children’s life at risk as well as those of others, especially infants and the elderly whose immune systems can’t handle these diseases. If not for your own kids, then for the rest of ours!
