I have a feeling that only a small percentage of customers of the Muskogee Water Department have knowledge about the AquaHawk program. This program monitors water usage and will furnish a water usage report by the hour, by the day, by the month, or by the year. It is a well-designed program that is easy to use and has great graphs.
It is very easy to sign up. Have your water bill and go to muskok.aquahawk.us to complete the signup. You can sign up one house, or if you own multiple properties and have multiple water meters in your name, one account can usually handle them all. As you sign up, you can set alerts for each of your properties. For instance, if you have a vacant property and you are concerned about a leak developing and flooding the property, you can set up the alert to email you any time more than one gallon per hour is used.
If you have ever wondered if an occupied house has a slow water leak, look at the hourly water usage during the night. Most of the night hours will show 0 water usage, except when someone flushes. You can set alerts by hour, by 24 hours or by month and have very nice bar graphs telling you everything you want to know. No matter how you set the alerts, the bar graphs can show you hour by hour usage if that is what you want.
Using AquaHawk at my home allows me to check for leaks, know how many gallons of water my wife uses when she washes clothes, and know how many gallons of water I use when I water the lawn for four hours. It could even tell how much water it takes to fill a swimming pool. When you are out of town, it can be of comfort to know you have the ability to check to make sure no water is being used and that your house hasn’t developed a sudden leak.
