Readers react to "School board calls for election on $110 million bond issue."

"I understand it's a pretty big investment in our schools but they have been neglected so long THIS is what it's going to take going forward. We complain about Muskogee not experiencing any real growth because we have trouble recruiting new industry to Muskogee. Well, investing into our schools like this WILL make a huge impact on our kids PLUS a BIG difference when it comes to recruiting industry as well. This millage would put Muskogee more closely aligned with the millages other districts in our region are getting and It still only amounts to about an additional $100-200 per year on your real estate taxes depending on the value of our home. Want better schools? better jobs? better quality of life? Support this!"

"I’m afraid that many of the seniors will vote against anything that raises taxes that much. We, however, will be voting for the bond issue. A strong updated school system will attract young families. We need better schools! We need more young people here!"
