We complain about speed traps in Oklahoma. One thing we are forgetting is that officers are hired to uphold the laws of the state.

They are not the ones breaking the laws. It is the people doing the complaining who are breaking the laws. Why should we penalize officers for doing the job they are hired to do?

Most officers give people a 5 to 10 mile over the posted limits before they are stopped. If the state or towns didn’t have laws why are the signs put up. They could save a lot of money by not putting up speed limit signs and just let the people do as they please and break all the laws.

It is not the officers’ fault that they are doing the job they are paid to do. It is the people doing the complaining who are at fault. It appears to me that the public thinks they are professional drivers, and that nothing will happen that they can't avoid. If that was true there would be no highway deaths on our roads. So I feel that if the people doing the complaining about speed traps obeyed the laws, they would have nothing to complain about.
