Muskogee’s No Speed Limit Track Club qualified eight athletes for nationals at the USA Track and Field Region 9 Junior Olympic Championships held last weekend in Emporia, Kansas.

Two will go as champions.

O’Shea Stevenson won the discus and javelin and was fifth in the discus, all in the 11-12 age group.

Walker Newton took first in the javelin in age 15-16.

Ty Bliss qualified second in the 2,000 meter steeplechase, fourth in the 1,500 meters and fifth in the 3,000 meters, all in the 15-16 division.

McKaylan Corbin was fourth in the javelin and fifth in the long jump, both 9-10 grouping.

Zion Dedmon was second in both the 11-12 discus and shot put.

In the 14-15 division, Ashlynn Freeman was runner-up in the 100 hurdles, second in the 200 hurdles and fourth in the high jump.

In 13-14, Jayden Swanson was fifth in the long jump.

And in 11-12, Zoe Walker was second in the 8-under 400, fourth in the 100 and fifth in the long jump.

The nationals are July 22-28 at Cal State-Sacramento.
