LANGSTON-BACONE — Games scheduled for Thursday were postponed to Monday.
NW MISSOURI 105, NSU 70 (M) — No. 2 Northwest Missouri blew open a 23-22 contest with a 32-11 run and never looked back in moving to 13-0 and 3-0 in MIAA play. Bradley George led NSU with 13 points in his first start of the season. Caleb Smith added 10. NSU, which became the first team to outrebound Northwest, fell to 6-6 and 0-3.
ORAL ROBERTS 83, NORTH DAKOTA 72 (M) — In Tulsa, Emmanuel Nzekwesi scored 34 points, Kevin Obanor added 23 more — both were career highs.
Nzekwesi made 13 of 17 shots from the floor and Obanor was a crisp 7 of 8 — a combined 20 of 25 — as the Golden Eagles shot 62 percent (31 of 50) and outscored North Dakota 40-28 in the paint.
Oral Roberts (6-11, 2-0 Summit League) led by as many as 17 in the second half, but had to fend off three rallies in the final 20 minutes when North Dakota closed to within four points.
NW MISSOURI 62, NSU 59 (W) — In a contest with 23 lead changes, six unanswered points in the final 90 seconds made the difference. Cenia Hayes gave NSU (3-9, 0-3 MIAA) a 59-56 lead with 1:35 to play before the surge.
Cailyn Long had 12 of her 20 points in the final quarter. Cielo McClain had 16 points and 10 rebounds. The Lady Bearcats moved to 5-7, 1-2.
CONNORS STATE 77, ALLEN (KAN.) 62 (W)— Visiting Connors (9-4) snapped a three-game losing streak with a 31-point performance by Shaniqua Patterson, making her return after sitting the first semester.
Vicky Duru followed in the scoring with 20 points and Cheyenne Marshall added 9 more. The Cowgirls trailed 30-29 at the half, but outscored the Red Devils 26-20 in the third period to never trail.
The Cowgirls’ game with Midland (Texas) in Warner has been rescheduled from today to Feb. 16. The Cowgirls play Eastern on Monday.
