TULSA 80, TULANE 57 — Jeriah Horne had 20 points and Martins Igbanu had 16 points and seven rebounds for Tulsa (15-10, 5-7 American Athletic Conference), which snapped its five-game road losing streak. DaQuan Jeffries added 16 points. Curran Scott had 12 points for the visiting team.
The Green Wave’s 27.6 field goal percentage represented the worst mark by a Tulsa opponent this season. Tulane had 13 assists on 16 made baskets. The Green Wave made only nine two-point baskets.
Caleb Daniels had 13 points for the Green Wave (4-19, 0-11), who have now lost 13 consecutive games.
WASHBURN 87, NSU 60 — Never leading the Ichabods (18-5, 11-3), NSU (12-11, 6-8) suffered its third straight loss, further watering down a six-game win streak. Caleb Smith led the RiverHawks with 22 points and 8 rebounds.
NORTH DAKOTA STATE 85, ORU 73 — Vinnie Shahid had 22 points for North Dakota State (14-12, 8-4 Summit League), which won its fifth consecutive game and posted a season-high 15 3-pointers. Kevin Obanor had 18 points and eight rebounds for the Golden Eagles (10-18, 6-7). Sam Kearns added 11 points and eight assists.
WASHBURN 73, NSU 60 —The visitors (16-7, 11-3 MIAA) scored 12 unanswered points over the third and fourth quarters to take control and drop NSU to 6-17 and 3-11. Joi Bertrand surpassed her career high by one with six blocks and was tied for the team lead in scoring with 18 points.
The six blocks brought the senior to 60 for the season and surpassed former Lady Reds player, Gaile Cook, (1989-90) by one for the top spot in program history. Dailyn Long had 18 points and Cenia Hayes 16. NSU is at Emporia State on Saturday.
