WARNER – Top-ranked Connors State pounded out 12 bases hits en route their 15th consecutive victory with a 7-2 win over Northern Oklahoma-Enid Thursday night at Biff Thompson Field in a non-conference baseball victory.
The Cowboys are now 27-3 and will next play Murray State at 1 p.m. Sunday at Biff Thompson Field.
The Jets took a 2-0 lead after the first three innings but the Cowboys erupted for six runs in the third inning to put the game away. Connors added another run in the eighth inning when Chance Sugg stole home.
Yaril Gonzalez collected two hits and two RBIs. Austin Catron pounded out three hits with an RBI. Landon Decker and Jake Borrego also had two base hits.
Josh Hammill (6-0) went seven innings, struck out six, didn’t give up a walk and scattered six hits.

MIAMI — Connors State’s Kristen Reasnor hit a solo home run in the sixth inning to drop Northeastern A&M 7-6 in the opener of an Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference softball clash Thursday night.
Connors lost the second game 9-2 to go to 19-4 overall and 5-1 in OCAC play. NEO is 16-10, 10-2.
Connors jumped out to a 5-0 lead, fell behind 6-5, then Taylor Purdue’s solo home run, her fourth of the year, tied the game at 6-all, setting the stage for Reasnor’s second home run of the season.
Taylor Canida started inside the circle before being lifted in the fourth. Jessica Christian (4-0) got the win.
In the nightcap four errors hurt the Cowgirls’ cause as the Lady Norse struck for a 2-0 lead after two innings. The Cowgirls tied it in the third inning. However, NEO scored two more runs in the fourth and three in the fifth to put the game away.
Reasnor (7-2) took the loss.
Cowgirls will travel to Altus, Okla on Saturday to play Western Oklahoma in a 2 p.m. twinbill.
