OKLAHOMA CITY — Several area golfers turned in solid efforts on Monday, but the East took it on the chin in All-State golf as the All-State games got under way, losing 62-46 in a combined matchup of boys and girls.

At Lincoln Park West Golf Course in Oklahoma City, Nathan Harris of Vian shot even-par 71 and finished third. Hilldale’s Cory Kirk shot 76 for the East boys, which had a 28-26 edge over the West boys. But the West girls outscored their East counterparts 36-18. Muskogee’s Mychael McWhorter turned in an 84, Tahlequah’s Talisha Osborn an 85 and Hilldale’s Sydney Tallon a 92.

In swimming, Fort Gibson’s Colby Ezell finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6 minutes and 33.78 seconds. She was also the fourth leg on the East’s fourth place 400-yafrd freestyle relay that had a time of 4:28.09 and the second leg on the fourth place 200-yard freestyle relay that had a 2:02.24 clocking.

The West defeated the East in the girls division, 63-31, and the East edged the West 48-46 in the boys side of the all-state meet.

Baseball outcomes were not available as of press time. There were no area wrestlers.

Tennis and volleyball are up today. Muskogee’s Micah Lemoine is the lone area tennis player on the boys side at the Oaktree Country Club in Edmond at 5:30 p.m., while Okay’s Marsha Reid is in the volleyball contest at 6 p.m. at Norman High School.
