WACO — Matt Hague and Rebel Ridling hit back-to-back home runs with two outs in the top of the ninth inning to lift Oklahoma State to a 6-5 win over Baylor in the Big 12 Conference baseball opener Friday night at Baylor Ballpark.

Trailing 5-4 and with the Cowboys (11-3) down to their final out, Hague stepped to the plate and tied the game with a solo home run over the left-centerfield wall off BU closer Nick Cassavechia.

That brought up Ridling, whose opposite-field blast to right-centerfield put OSU on top. Ridling’s shot was also his first hit of the game, which extended his hitting streak to 20 games.

BU made things interesting in its final at bat against Cowboy closer Jordy Mercer, who retired leadoff batter Beamer Weems to open the inning, but then issued a walk to Aaron Miller. That brought up Adam Hornung, who struck out swinging for the second out. Dustin Dickerson then singled to put Bears on first and third before Mercer got Gregg Glime to ground out to end the game.
