Blake Faulkner, a senior defender on the Fort Gibson High School boys soccer team, has been named to the United Soccer Coaches High School Scholar All-America Team.
A four-year starter for the Tigers, Faulkner maintained a grade point average of 4.2 on a weighted scale.
“You think about All-America, it’s a big-time honor that’s well deserved,” said Todd Friend, the Tigers’ coach. “It’s a tribute to him and his work ethic. I don’t know of anyone in this area who’s received this honor.”
On the field, Faulkner helped the Tigers to back-to-back Class 4A state championships in 2017 and 2018 and the state finals in 2019. He was named to the Oklahoma Soccer Coaches Association All-State Team earlier this month. He and other Tigers’ defenders helped in more than 30 shutouts in four seasons.
Faulkner has signed to play collegiately at Northeastern State University.
