AUSTIN, Texas --- Northeastern State’s Stephanie Bird carded a final round 76 to finish in third place at the St. Edward’s Invitational held at the Circle C Golf Club here Tuesday afternoon.



The RiverHawks fired a final round 331 to finish seventh with a team total of 687. The University of Texas won the tournament by three shots over Tarleton State and was 10 shots better than host St. Edward’s University.



In the medalist race, the Lone Star Conference was well represented, as Southwestern State’s Kristen Davenport won the honor finishing with a two round total of 157. Tarleton’s Shraddhanjali Singh carded the best round of the tournament with a final round three-over par 74 to finish second, while Bird’s two round total of 162 earned third place accolades.



NSU’s Katie Miller finished tied for 21st with a two-round total of 169, Courtney Epps tied for 40th carding a 175, Shaunda Petree tied for 56th with a 181 and Taysha Butler tied for 80th with a 194.



Northeastern State will be in action on March 13-14 at the Northern Illinois-Snowbird Invitational.
