Notes: Ten of the previous 13 meetings, including the last three have taken place in the playoffs. Muskogee is making its 37th playoff appearance with a 32-33-1 record with state titles in 1948, 1950, and 1986.

 

Class 5A

Coweta at No. 5 Tahlequah

Series record: Coweta leads, 10-9.

Notes: Tahlequah defeated Coweta in a week two matchup earlier this year. The Tigers also defeated Coweta in the first round of last year’s playoffs (19-7). Tahlequah has its first 9-win season since going 12-1 in 1991 and is making its 21st playoff appearance. Tiger teams are 14-20 in the postseason. Their best finish was runner-up in 1989.

 

Class 4A

Hilldale at No. 6 Bristow

Kickoff: 7 p.m.

Records: Hilldale 8-2, Bristow 9-1.

Last week: Poteau 30, Hilldale 24; Bristow 49, Miami 30.

Last meeting: Bristow 32, Hilldale 10 (1999).

Series record: Bristow leads, 2-0.

Notes: Hilldale has won its last three first-round playoff games and six of its last seven. The Hornets have not won on the road since a second-round win at Metro Christian in 2013 (14-12). Bristow leads Class 4A in scoring averaging nearly 48 points. Hilldale has eclipsed the 400-point mark in scoring for the fourth straight season. Hilldale is making its 19th playoff appearance. Hornet teams have a playoff record of 12-18 but have never advanced past the quarterfinals.

 

Fort Gibson at No. 3 Wagoner

Series record: Wagoner leads, 28-8.

Notes: Wagoner has won the last four meetings and 13 of the last 14. The Bulldogs won their seventh straight district title and are making their14th straight playoff appearance. Wagoner has won 14 straight first-round games and is making its 36th playoff appearance with a  record of 46-28-2. Bulldog teams have won four state titles.  Fort Gibson was shut out for the first time in 93 games last week. The Tigers are making their 20th playoff appearance with an 8-19 record and runnerup finish in 1999.

 

Class 3A

No. 8 Stigler at No. 10 Locust Grove

Kickoff: 7 p.m.

Records: Stigler 8-2, Locust Grove 8-2.

Last week: Stigler 53, Webster 13; Locust Grove 43, Vinita 40.

Last meeting: Stigler 23, Locust Grove 7 (2003).

Series record: Tied, 2-2.

Notes: Fourth straight playoff appearance for the Panthers. Stigler is making its 28th playoff appearance. Panther teams are 12-26-4 in the playoffs and were runner-up in 1960 and 1965. Stigler has not won a road playoff game since a 22-6 win over Madill in 1965.

 

Class 2A

Spiro at Eufaula

Kickoff: 7 p.m.

Records: Spiro 7-3, Eufaula 8-2.

Last week: Spiro 32, Sequoyah 13; Eufaula 44, Atoka 21.

Last meeting: Eufaula 34, Spiro 12 (2017).

Series record: Spiro leads, 32-12.

Notes: Eufaula has won the last four meetings. The Ironheads won their first district title since 2007 to advance to its 28th playoff appearance. The Ironheads are 21-27 and have made it as far as the semifinals five times. Spiro is making its 46th appearance. That is the most of any team without winning a state title. Bulldogs teams have finished runner-up three times.

 

Hugo at No. 10 Vian

Kickoff: 7 p.m.

Records: Hugo 5-5, Vian 8-2.

Last week: Hugo 46, Wilburton 16; Vian 55, Keys 0.

Last meeting: Vian 47, Hugo 0 (2013).

Series record: Vian leads, 4-0.

Notes: Vian leads Class 2A in scoring defense giving up just over six points. The Wolverines are making their 15th straight playoff appearance and have hosted first-round games each year. Vian is making its 39th playoff appearance with a 56-37 record. Vian’s lone state title came in 1971.

 

Class A

Allen at Hulbert

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.

Records: Allen 5-5, Hulbert 7-3.

Last week: Wayne 43, Allen 7; Hulbert 54, Savanna 8.

Last meeting: Allen 42, Hulbert 0 (1999).

Series record: Allen leads, 1-0.

Notes: Hulbert won its first district title since 1968. Last meeting came in the first round of the playoffs. The Riders set a school record averaging 43 points during the regular season. Hulbert has won three straight first round games. Hulbert is in the playoffs for just the 14th time. Rider teams are 5-13 but three of those wins have come in the last three years.

 

Wynnewood at Gore

Kickoff: 7 p.m.

Records: Wynnewood 7-3, Gore 8-2.

Last week: Wynnewood 73, Liberty 16; Central Sallisaw 14, Gore 12.

Last meeting: Wynnewood 67, Gore 15 (2012).

Series record: Wynnewood leads, 2-0.

Notes: Both meetings came in the first round of the playoffs (2012 and 2010). Gore has lost 12 straight playoff games. The Pirates’ last win came in 2000 against Coalgate (7-6). Gore is making its 32nd appearance with a 9-31 record.

 

Class B

Porum at Weleetka

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.

Records: Porum 4-6, Weleetka 7-3.

Last week: Dewar 60, Porum 18; Wetumka 54, Weleetka 8.

Last meeting: Weleetka 50, Porum 8 (2017).

Series record: Weleetka leads, 17-0.

Notes: Porum is making its first playoff appearance since 2005 and its second overall appearance. Weleetka has won the last four meetings by an average of 50-5.

 

Class C

Midway at Coyle

Last meeting: Coyle 50, Midway 20 (2017).

Series record: Coyle leads, 2-0.

Notes: Third consecutive playoff appearance for Midway. The Chargers have lost nine straight first round games. Midway’s last playoff win came against Davenport in 2005 (54-48 OT).
