Checotah’s Seth Knight hit a two-run home run to get things going and Three Rivers exploded in a six-run fifth inning to beat the Enid Plainsmen 9-1 on the way to a pair of wins Saturday at Enid.
The four-way weekend set also saw the area American Legion squad Bandits (4-0) beat the Ada Braves 6-4 in their second contest Saturday. Three Rivers plays one more on Sunday, an 11 a.m. game against Bartlesville.
Three Rivers was tied 4-4 in the sixth when Stilwell’s Tyson Fourkiller and Boone Lasater each singled in runs to decide that contest.
Back in the opener, Jayce Roberts’ RBI single and a two-run triple by Brock Hendrix fueled the late surge that turned the game into a blowout. Kaden Alexander went four innings, allowing two hits and one run for the win. Colby Mitchell came on in the fifth and allowed one hit as the game ended on a run-rule. Carson Foreman of Warner also had a hit for Three Rivers.
Fourkiller, Lasater, Replogle and Roberts each had two hits in the second game. Four Bandits pitchers saw mound duty with the third, Brock Hendrix, getting the win.
